TX, USA. April 2nd, PM. We both have multiple 5. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work. I prefer shooting an M1A. If you still feel you are qualified to post in those subforums, please contact "Shane Tuttle" the mod for that portion of TFL via Private Message for assistance. I love both. And it's made in Illinois. And they are usually more accurate. The stock if broken must be removed with a special tool and even using this tool can be a nightmare to the person who has seldom done this job.

Can anyone give me a good reason to keep one of these over the other? I can think of several but may have missed some. M1A mags are.

It was a 1. Ive never shot a FAL.
I've been in a similar quandry. Might want to call up Smith Enterprises or post a question in silencer sub forum.
Both rifles do.
The FAL feels like it has more muzzle climb and is harder for me to control. Get a scout if you plan to ever mount optics. I know my assessment of the FAL won't garnish me many new friends, but that's okay. Screws have been installed on some civilain mounts buy they are a pain to loosen up to remove the scope and once this is done the rifle may loose zero.
My Scout M1A was fun to shoot at the range but I would never consider it for defensive use when in stock form.
